Eric Church and Luke Combs, who shine as songwriters and airwave gatekeepers inrame, shares that hosting a concert raises millions in the face of natural disasters. In 1990, the Artist Humanitarian Award, given by Country Radio Broadcasters at the annual Newsplit Convention, honors singers and leads to an improved impact for those they support.
Launched as a youth wellness organization in 1990, this award recognizes a singer’s philanthropic efforts to reach people and improve their cause. It is named after Mark Blie, a University of North Carolina student who died in 1997, who collected donations to fund health programs. Past recipients include Kenny Chesney and Kenny Chesney appeared in his song “Can’t Stop the Hunger” to activate捐款.
In 2023, Church and Combs hosted an event in North Carolina, “Concert For Carolina,” raising $24 million to support hurricane relief. They received artistic acknowledgment during a conversation at Country Radio Stayman Presents events at the convention.
