After being able to live stream video on Facebook, it is now possible to do the same on YouTube. This was a feature YouTube users were missing out on, especially since the platform is the largest for sharing videos online. The wait is over since now a YouTube live stream can also be in real-time!

Live streaming is not new to YouTube. A lot of special events that date back all the way back to 2011 were also streamed live for the very first time. Unfortunately, you were not able to showcase your own video in a live stream, until now that is. YouTube was also the first to launch a 360-degree live streaming support free of cost as well.

In a bid to make it better, it is now possible to live stream video through your mobile phone, with the key focus being on “live”. Being relatively new, not many users will know how to go about it. Let’s take a look below and see how you too can live stream your mobile video on YouTube.

Who Can Live Stream Mobile Video on YouTube and How?

Right now, only those YouTubers who have more than 10,000 subscribers can use the feature to live stream mobile video through the YouTube app. This feature will soon launch for everyone else too, but is limited to just the highly followed YouTubers right now.

In order to access the feature, all you have to do is open up the YouTube app on your mobile phone. It has been integrated into the app by YouTube and is accessed by hitting the capture button. After doing so, you will go live and be able to stream to all of your subscribers right then and there.

YouTube has claimed that since it took a while for the feature to be available for more common use, it will be based on a fast and solid foundation to minimize lag and slowing down. YouTube has also claimed to better manage live chat so that it is easier to communicate with a large number of viewers at the same time. This has been an issue on Facebook when living streaming and hundreds of messages popping up without a chance to view them all. It is near to impossible to address them and most are missed because of that.

Making Money through YouTube Live Stream

Source: Youtube

Another way creators can monetize on their YouTube content is through the new “Super Chat” option. When live streaming, those users participating in the discussion can pay a fee to have their comments highlighted and pinned to the top for a certain amount of time in order to attract the live streaming YouTuber’s attention. This would increase financial benefits of creating content and diversifying income streams for those YouTube users who work hard to create fun and exciting videos.

According to YouTube:

“Super Chat is like paying for that front-row seat in the digital age: it lets any fan watching a live stream stand out from the crowd and get a creator’s attention by purchasing chat messages that are highlighted in bright colors and stay pinned to the top of the chat window for up to five hours. Super Chat gives viewers a chance to add a little visual flair to their chats and gives creators a new way to keep connected to their fans while earning a little money on the side, let’s say for example, while shopping at Target or playing video games :).”
