It has been a little over 6 months since Apple released iOS 10, which was days before the iPhone 7 and the updates continue coming in. This shows that Apple is committed to providing the best possible experience for users who pay good money for Apple products. According to latest updates, Apple is gearing up to release another major improvement with iOS 10.3, which could be rolled out in a matter of a month’s time.
As of now, iOS 10.3 beta 1 has been released for developers. This new major update is expected to be the last for the iOS 10 series, especially since iOS 11 is set to be displayed at the 2017 Apple Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) in San Jose, California, later on in June.
We hope that Google learns something from Apple in this regard as well. Especially when it comes to pushing manufacturers to roll out Android updates in time.

Which New Features will iOS 10.3 Have?
Well, the Beta version is always a great source to tell which features will be available for the general public when it is officially released. Some features are also rumoured to be included, but have not been seen in the Beta 1 version as of yet. Here are some of the more well-known features which Apple users can expect when the final version is released.
From testers, the performance feels improved, smoother and faster in this release. This could definitely get even better when officially made public.
- Find My AirPods: Comparable to Find My iPhone. Now with the ability to track your last known location for AirPods, which will also play a sound when prompted.
- Apple File System: This one really had Apple geeks excited since it was going to be a more backend improvement to Apple’s file management and organisational system.
- Better Compatibility with HomeKit and SiriKit
- Improved Visualisations: Better performing and looking visual effects and graphics for apps and menus will be introduced in the iOS 10.3 update.
- Siri Gets Better at Cricket by Getting Scores from Indian Premier League (IPL) and International Cricket Council (ICC)
- Improved Security Features
- Finally be able to turn off in-App reviews
The biggest update which users were expecting was probably ‘Theatre Mode’ which would allow video viewing in a cinematic style by darkening the surroundings. This has unfortunately not been seen in the iOS 10.3 Beta 1 release, but may be added as the update gets ready for release.
There are a number of others upgrades as well which have come with the beta release, but most will be unnoticeable to normal users. Such updates are better for the smooth and integrated iOS performance which Apple is popular for.
When will iOS 10.3 Be Released?
For now, there is no confirmed date of release from Apple. Most experts are claiming March or even the start of April to be the time around which users should expect it to be sent out. There will probably be a couple of more Beta released for the iOS 10.3 before the launch is official.
Another view on this subject is that since iOS 11 is expected to be displayed in June, Apple would want to get this out earlier. As early as Mid-March 2017. Otherwise the point of building up excitement for this release would be pointless. Also, it is interesting to note that previous update history has shown that Apple not rolling out updates on the weekend.
Want to Try Out iOS 10.3 Beta 1?
Head over to Apple’s Beta Testing Program for more details on how to sign up and become a tester for the iOS 10.3 Beta 1. The process does require approval from Apple’s side, but once that happens, you will be able to benefit from future updates as well. Beta testers get certification installed on their iOS devices by Apple to test the updates out and actually receive them over-the-air.
Other than that, there is really no alternative to getting iOS 10.3 Beta 1 before the update is rolled out officially by Apple.
