WWE Releases 7 Superstars In Massive Roster Purge—Who’s Out?

The WWE has long been a fanatically sized company, with a massive roster of Superstars! But in recent weeks, the company has fully pivoted, announcing massive changes – six Superstars ($1 million each) have been dealt with in a way that hints at both a majorsplit in the company’s ranks. The release or separation of successors to former molded characters and other Annunciations have shaken STATUS.CDX’s songpile.

On February 4, WWE announced the release of six Superstars, more than doubling its roster from 841 Superstars ($285 million) to 884 ($336 million). This move was not an easy pivot, as five of the Superstars were already underpaid within WWE. Duke Hudson, well known as the guy who swapped from WWE to NXT to help differentiate himself from others, was among the first to head back onto the WWE stage. His statement was reportedly entertaining, hinting at a reinvention he’d lead for future WWE.

Duke declared his separation “unlikely to happen,” explaining that his contract wouldn’t be renewed (the contract expires in 90 days). He also forgot where he’d next go.“Eventually, I’ll be free,” he toyed with a statement, leaving fans to assume perhaps a RETURN as part of his upcoming next role. Regardless, his departure will certainly affect the WWE’s roster.
