How to Record Your Apple iPhone Screen

Unlike most apps on your iOS 11 powered Apple iPhone, you will not be able to see a standalone app for the screen recording option. Recording your Apple iPhone screen can be done similar to taking a screen shot and the shortcut for it can be brought right into the newly designed control panel.

Here are the simple steps on how you can add the screen recording option to your Apple iPhone’s control panel. Just remember, this tutorial is just for the Apple iPhone and we will be doing a separate how-to for Apple iPads, even though the process shouldn’t be much different.

Step 1: Open up settings on your Apple iPhone and scroll down to where you will find the option to get into the ‘Control Center’ settings.

Step 2: Once you are in ‘Control Center’, there will be two options here for you to further explore. The first one will be turning ‘Access Within Apps’ on or off. You’ll need to keep this option enabled for sure to proceed.

Now, tap on the ‘Customize Controls’ to enter the part of control center settings which will allow you to add or remove various apps and functions from your iPhone’s control center.

Record Your Apple iPhone Screen With or Without Sound

The great part about this addition to iOS 11 is that you have both options available to you. If you are making a video which doesn’t need any sound, you won’t have to edit it out later.

Likewise, if you want sound recording from your Apple iPhone’s own mic, that option is totally open to you as well.

After clicking on the screen recording app from your control panel, you basically have three seconds before the actual recording begins.

Hard touching the recording app when it starts or a long tap for non-3D touch devices, will bring you into another menu where you can activate and deactivate the mic altogether.

Where is the Video Stored?

A red bar appears on top of your iPhone when recording is in progress. To stop the recording, go ahead and tap on that red bar, after which you will get the option to stop the recording. Tapping yes will save your videos, which get stored in your photos with all the other pictures and videos on your iPhone storage.

From there you can move the video around, edit it with iMovie and so on.
