The battle of the giant Apple iPhones is among us. That is, until the iPhone X is officially released. For now, the iPhone 7 Plus vs iPhone 8 Plus is the reason of heated debates around the world. Apple fanatics everywhere are fighting to either keep their iPhone 7 Plus on top or go with the new glass-body iPhone 8 Plus.
What some might end up calling as the iPhone 7S Plus, the iPhone 8 Plus is a new and improved version of Apple’s 2016 flagship smartphone.
There are too many similarities to talk about between the iPhone 7 Plus vs iPhone 8 Plus. Which is why it’s important to focus rather on what’s better in the new 5.5-inch Apple smartphone and how it offers a few reasons to make that upgrade.
iPhone 7 Plus vs iPhone 8 Plus: Design
This is the most noticeable change right off the bat. With a new, highly durable and sleek glass body, the iPhone 8 Plus is a game changer for Apple smartphones. Being the first device ever by Apple to feature not only a highly durable glass body design, this is the first smartphone as well by Apple to feature wireless charging capabilities.
There is a slightly noticeable change in regards to dimensions of the two stellar iPhones. Here are each of their specs in terms of weight, height and width:
iPhone 7 Plus is 158.2 x 77.9 x 7.3 mm and weighs 188g (6.63 oz)
iPhone 8 Plus is slight larger at 158.4 x 78.1 x 7.5 mm and heavier at 202g (7.13 oz)
Apple last used a glass body design back in 2011 with the iPhone 4S, which is why the device is heaver and larger than last year’s model. This also has a drawback for the iPhone 8 plus since glass is less durable in any case than aluminum and can crack easily. Apple does claim that this is the strongest glass body of any smartphone today, but that does not mean it can’t break.
If wireless charging is not something you are too fond of, then the design and glass body of the iPhone 8 Plus may not be an attractive aspect of upgrading at all.

iPhone 7 Plus vs iPhone 8 Plus: Display
Other than the iPhone 8 Plus having ‘True Tone’ technology and HDR support, there is no significant improvement on part of the two smartphones displays.
Both have a 5.5-inch, LED-backlit IPS LCD, giving a resolution of 1920×1080 pixels (401 ppi) and a 67.7% screen-to-body ratio.
You are probably wondering about that new Super Retina Display that Apple was boasting about during their launch event of 2017. Unfortunately, neither the iPhone 8 nor the iPhone 8 Plus come with that display. Only the Apple iPhone X will get that technology, which can be compared to OLED displays used by Samsung and other manufacturers.
Both phones have the same Touch ID technology, while supporting a ion-strengthened display glass with oleophobic coating.
If a better display was going to be a make-it or break-it for you, than sticking with the less expensive iPhone 7 Plus vs iPhone 8 Plus is a better choice to make.

iPhone 7 Plus vs iPhone 8 Plus: The Performance is the Real Difference, for the Camera too
What really sets the iPhone 8 Plus apart from the iPhone 7 Plus is the new and Apple customized A11 Bionic Chip that has everyone is awe.
iPhone 7 Plus had the monumental A10 Fusion chipset, but the A11 Bionic is revolutionary for the smartphone manufacturer. This is the same chip which is powering the Apple iPhone X, as well.
Here are the specifics:
Apple iPhone 7 Plus packs a A10 Fusion Chip with a Quad-core, 2.34 GHz CPU and PowerVR Series 7XT Plus (six-core graphics) GPU.
Apple iPhone 8 Plus has a A11 Bionic Chip, Hexa-Core CPU and a built-in, Apple GPU with three cores.
Claims of the A11 Chip being 70% faster, 30% better graphics performance and 25% better peak CPU performance are made by Apple. Which are monumental. Not only that. Apple also says that the iPhone 8 Plus is 70% faster in low power mode than its predecessor. It cannot get any better than that, that’s for sure.
Because of this chip, the iPhone 8 Plus is said to have the capability to take better and sharper pictures and video. This is due also to the new Apple-designed Image Signal Processor built-in to the device, which is missing on the iPhone 7 Plus.
Other than that, both devices have the same 12MP dual back camera and 7 MP Front FaceTime camera.

iPhone 7 Plus vs iPhone 8 Plus: Storage, Speakers, Colors and Battery
With the iPhone 7 Plus, users had the option to choose between 32, 128 or 256GB of storage. We have to say that 32 gigs of storage is just too outdated for a phone like the iPhone 7 Plus.
This is exactly why Apple how now limited storage options for the iPhone 8 Plus to just two. Two versions are available, making much more sense. 64GB and 256GB. RAM remains the same for both devices at 3GB.
Apple also claims that the iPhone 8 Plus has 25% louder speakers with more clarity and deeper bass than the iPhone 7 Plus. The latter had excellent sound quality, which is why getting a iPhone 8 Plus is a done deal for music lovers everywhere.
In terms of colors, Apple has discontinued the Jet-Black variant for the iPhone 8 Plus (we wonder why?). Only three colors are available for 2017:
Apple claims that the iPhone 8 Plus has the same battery timings as the iPhone 7 Plus, but packs a larger one.
iPhone 8 Plus has a 2691 mAh battery with 21 Hours of talk time, Wireless Charging and Quick Charging giving users 50% battery in 30 minutes.
iPhone 7 Plus has a 2900 mAh battery without quick charging and no wireless charging option available.

iPhone 7 Plus: $669 for 32GB and $769 for 128GB
iPhone 8 Plus: $799 for 64GB and $949 for 256GB
