Google Pixel 2

It’s been two years since Google has started manufacturing hardware and software combined smartphones on its own and we are loving every moment of it. The first Pixel smartphone was not a monumental success for Google, but it was a step in the right direction. Now, with the unveiling of the Google Pixel 2, there is just so much more to look forward to.

With Google, things are usually simple, beautiful and work like a charm. The Pixel 2 has been made specifically keeping those few words in mind. The new Pixel 2 is not a completely bezel-free display, brick of a phone with extravagant features. Instead, it’s more for the people of an acquired taste. Looking to keep their work moving and life simple, yet technologically advanced.

Mind my statement. The Pixel 2 smartphone by Google is not in any way for the people who want to flash their devices at the world. Rather, it is about comfort, utility and simplicity. Things which Google has done a great job of achieving with the Pixel 2.

Like Apple uses Samsung for some of the display manufacturing of its iPhones and other suppliers for the remaining parts, Google also does outsource. The Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL were made by HTC and LG, respectively. But, Google has increased its stakes in HTC recently and LG is known for making excellent phones, so it is win-win for all.

This year’s slogan by Google for the Pixel 2 is:

“Ask More of Your Phone.”

Maybe that’s because smartphone companies are now moving towards not only better design, but integrating software better with it. Apple massively improved on what Siri could do with the latest version of iOS 11 and the Apple iPhones. Google also seems to be working on bringing artificial intelligence into the spotlight with the Google Assistant working better with Pixel smartphones than any other out there.

Final Thoughts on Google’s new Pixel 2

It seems like companies really are ditching the headphone jack for more space and compactness in their smartphones. We had always though Google would not be the second to jump in on the trend, but this will surely force other to follow through now too.

For those of you who cannot seem to let go of their wired headphones, times are changing fast. Why not try a new pair of wireless headphones?

Google’s new Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL are fantastic looking smartphones. They will put up a fight, but this year is still the year of Apple vs. Samsung. Google is catching up fast, but still has a long time to go before it actually becomes a top contender with the two giants in the smartphone arena.
