Xiaomi Mi Max 2

Some of us fell in love with the giant phablets that started rolling out a few years back. The Motorola Nexus 6 was a dream smartphone. It was backed by Google with the Nexus series, had a 5.96-inch display and everything which one could dream of back in 2014. Unfortunately, it all went down hill from there. Smartphone manufacturers just gave up on making larger devices that would run between the smartphone and tablet category. Until the Xiaomi Mi Max 2 rolled out.

Xiaomi has been doing a great job. They have come up with phones which have begun dominating the market. 2017 was a huge year for the Chinese manufacturer as they saw a rise to the top in a massive smartphone market in India and are continuously introducing high quality gadgets. The Xiaomi Mi Max 2 is a device for dedicated phablet lovers and nothing gets better than this right now.

Let’s get right into the specs first.

Xiaomi Mi Max 2

This Xiaomi phablet is a monster. It has amazing build quality, will not fit into your normal sized pockets and could be hard to grip with one hand. But for phablet lovers out there, this is what we’ve always dreamed of.

Gigantic Screen: Coming in at 6.44 inches, the Xiaomi Mi Max 2 has an amazingly large screen. Bigger than the Motorola Nexus 6, with much better quality. It has an IPS LCD Display with 1080p resolution and 342 ppi.

Build Quality: Xiaomi didn’t compromise on the overall build quality either. The Xiaomi Mi Max 2 comes with a beautiful Aluminam Unibody Design and 2.5D Front Glass which crystal clear and strong.

Chipset & OS: Android 7.1.1 is built-in along with MIUI 8.5 with split screen capability. The chipset is a wonderous Snapdragon 625, Octa-Core 2.0 GHz Cortex-A53 Processor and Adeno 506 GPU.

You also get a 64 GB or 128 GB option for internal memory along with microSD card support for further expansion if needed. This memory card slot is also a hybrid for a second SIM card. This is why Xiaomi makes the perfect phones. They give you so many options, unlike a lot of the smartphone makers out there.

Camera Details: Camera quality is amazing. You get a 12MP rear camera with f/2.2 aperture and a dual-LED dual tone flash with 4K recording. The front camera is 5MP with a f/2.0 aperture and can record at 1080p @ 30 fps.

This beauty also has a fingerprint sensor on the back, touch display buttons on the front and a crazy big 5,300 mAh battery with Quick Charge 3.0. Charging connector is USB Type-C, which could get a little annoying at times due to less adoption of smartphone companies. The infrared blaster is also a nice addition.

Colors: The Xiaomi Mi Max 2 comes in Gold and Black.

Price:  This has to be the best part. Depending on which market you get the smartphone from, the price is usually under $300 USD.

If this isn’t the perfect smartphone, we don’t know which one is.
